Geared for the lay person with back pain, this class guides the participants through a self assessment to identify their specific pain triggers. This knowledge is then used to guide how to avoid the pain triggers (remove the cause) followed by an exercise progression matched to the individual’s needs (through the class and specifically through the private session). The guidance is evidence based and follows the teachings of Stuart McGill, PhD, author of “Back Mechanic”.
This series is meant for those who have some mobility and is not meant to take the place of a physician or physical therapist. This material has been proven to effectively help individuals with practical steps toward recovery from back pain.
To be the best prepared, I suggest ordering the book in advance to familiarize yourself with the step by step McGill Method that we’ll be using in class: “Back Mechanic”.
